A film that I feel I should like given the core of the story being a rather interesting (and at times painfully delivering on second-hand embarrassment) depiction of social isolation. Going in with low expectations due to the reviews here and was left pleasantly surprised at it being better than what I'd grown to assume. First off, if we compare it to the original then yes, the original wins. This doesn't capture the same things that made the original so good, nor will I likely rewatch it to the same degree as I would the original (if I rewatch it at all). It doesn't help that the ending is pretty…
