This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Although a little cheesy/corny, this movie expressed the nuance in the meanings of the phrase "I love you", and how memories fade. It is also about a unjust society that alienates/victimizes innocent people.
In the beginning of the film Jordan asks what love is, he asks when you say I love you does that mean you only love me until someone else comes along? He expresses how the words "I love you" may not be so clear and universalistic.

This movie broke my heart.
No matter the pain, despite the struggle, regardless of their unfortunate circumstances, the boys don’t stop. They continue to fight (figuratively and literally) until they can’t fight anymore.
