It was entertaining once it finally got going and I did not expect those last five minutes. It’s also ‘80s as hell in all the best and worst ways.

Mississippi Burning 1988
I see all the complaints about this movie and sure, considering this is based on a true story and they made some fictional FBI agents the heroes instead of the black community and civil rights activists - that’s problematic.
…Buuuut I’m strictly reviewing this as a Gene Hackman “In Memoriam” movie in 2025 and seeing him grabbing extremely vile KKK members by the balls or beating the shit out of them in barbershops? That’s incredibly gratifying to watch and honestly this movie contains an excellent all around performance by ol’ Gene.
