Soft and pretty aesthetics with difficult to watch events. Maybe a juxtaposition not so far off from adolescence – lostness and hurt behind youth and supposedly carefree days. Well-made if you buy into the angst and pretentiousness (which I think you should).

Memories of Murder 2003
I vaguely knew how the plot would conclude as I knew it was based on a true event, and was curious how it would bring along the audience to a climax to give 'resolution'.
The tension, frustration, and desperation. It did not disappoint.

Infernal Affairs 2002
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I usually don't like crime films because they heavily lean into the genre, mood, and graphic excitement to deliver a story. However, I really enjoyed infernal affairs as it found a perfect balance between such genre-y excitement and the storytelling of the characters. The juxtaposition of the two mole’s lifestyles stood out, and tony leung’s acting added great dimension to Wing-yan.
The only thing that felt slightly out of place was Wing-yan’s romance with his psychiatrist, but it didn’t bother me…
