The Wailing 2016
It's heartbreaking for a movie to get so close to something amazing and to shit the bed at the end.
This movie is such a great slow burn, with gut wrenching tension at times that you assume is leading to a huge reveal that leaves you shaken. Instead it just never grows past a smolder.
Amazing cinematography, powerful acting, and interesting themes are held back by a story that makes so little sense, it leaves you wondering who is who what we are doing here. Bummer. Still liked it though.
