Absolutely top tier analog horror, highly recommend, some great choices in terms of differentiating shots (4:3 vs. wide for example), and plenty of plot to discuss and/or try to figure out.

An interesting enough concept with some pretty unique plot points and worldbuilding. Some of the cinematography during action sequences is lacklustre (cuts are a little jarring), but pretty criminally underrated and was not well received by critics.

Absolutely fantastic. While definitely simplified compared to the book (or this would be several hours longer), it strips the story back to its main plot points and relevant worldbuilding very, very well. Characters are genuinely engaging and the cinematography is a masterclass. As a fan of the books first and foremost, I could not have wished for anything better really. This franchise is up there with Star Wars and Lord of the Rings for me (and, to be honest, better in quite a few respects).
