Y'all this film was not that bad. I thought it did pretty well handling a sensitive subject matter. Could it have done some things better? Of course, but it doesn't deserve the demonization I've seen from some.
What I really didn't appreciate was the implication that giving money to a film supports anti-human trafficking efforts. That's b.s. Research and find an organization to support (but avoid Ballard's O.U.R.). If you don't have an issue with faith-based organizations, International Justice Mission (IJM) does really good work. Just don't go watch a movie and pat yourself on the back for doing so.
