Felt like multiple movies melted together with too much to say in not enough time. I still enjoyed the experience but had some whiplash from the rapid tone changes. Lots of context was established for storylines that never resolved. In the end I wasn’t sure what it wanted to say, but it definitely leaves you thinking.

The Double 2013
This film pissed me off but in a good way.
Not only is it anxiety inducing, it also hammered up my rage for the relentless neglect against the protagonist. The idea of being replaced, bureaucratically erased, ignored and helpless to stop this is scary as hell.
I was patiently waiting for a moment of tension release where things finally go well for Simon but everything got endlessly worse!
The set dressing, cinematography, eerie soundtrack and occasional stilted acting enhanced the uncomfortable and frustrating tone of the film.
Don’t watch if you’re in a low mood. It’ll get lower 😭
