Content-wise this was straight up my alley and I absolutely gobbled it up. Fiennes is COOKING in this one and the whole cast did a great job. I felt like each character was complex and richly realized. That's why I was a little bummed out by the dialogue, which squanders the morally and intellectually rich subject matter. It's all thesis-antithesis, broad strokes of liberal vs. conservative, idealist vs. pragmatist, etc., and ya boi needed some synthesis. Denzel and Hackman are cooking and the Zimmer score rips. Tony Scott doing interesting things as usual, but it's all a bit too conservative and stuffed with military jargon for me to fully get on board.
