Serviceable rather than risible

Super smart take on both found footage and the modern vampire story. While comparisons to Chronicle are obvious, Afflicted is far more engaging, these are characters you actually care about.

Part The Shining, part An Inspector Calls, brilliantly smart concept. I was genuinely surprised at how much I liked this. Yes, it's slow-paced but that works tremendously well. Worth a look.

Yay, another found footage flick.
In amongst all the Paranormal Activity riffs there are a couple of neat ideas here, but it is, frankly a mess.

Even more annoying is a particular continuity error that pretty much shows even the film makers stopped giving a crap at some point.
