I’ve always been a sceptic b/c of the chin but Dalton surprises! The reinvigorating needed after being run down by Roger. Sadly halfway done with his chapter though. I recommend leafing through his wikipedia; Dalton was a real steward of the Bond legacy - much respect, god bless.

    Favorite moments:
    - Opening sequence - one of the best
    - Late 80s synthwave beat gives it a more serious feel than Moore (similar to the Brosnan —> Craig transition)
    - Salt corrosion car stunt
    - James not being a fuck addict (only 2 women I think?)

Ohhhhh. Everything about this movie is stunning. Right from the start with its jarring but clean opening sequence, and that font (it’s called Florida). All the stylistic black & white contrasted with the story that is anything but black & white. The faces. The bloodsucking? The dialogue is sparse and doesn’t waste a word - the stranger on the beach scene is so well monologued. And Bibi’s hair. It’s all mesmerizing, horrifying, makes Lynch make a bit more sense.

Was like a slightly better Okja with a different ethical premise (replicant rights vs animal/environment rights). Seeing clone schtup your lover - ummm The 6th Day much??! Even some of the characters were analog - Tilda & Toni as the freakish garish lanky ladies.

It was funny though and quite quirked up, imaginative, and playful. However some of it felt half-heartedly done and didn’t really land/make sense (the eugenics thing? the sauce thing?). On BJH’s films, they have odd range, but I think the darker Korean works are undeniably his strong suit.
