Mickey 17 2025
Mickey 17 is sort of disappointing. My biggest gripe is Bong Joon-Ho’s humor. His comedy movies are just not appealing and way too silly for my cup of tea. Similar to Okaja both films feel way too preachy. I miss the old Bong Joon-Ho when he focused on his drama work and his films focused in South Korea. Not the biggest fan of his Hollywood work. Besides those complaints I enjoyed all the sci-fi stuff and Robert Patterson was great.

The Monkey 2025
I love Osgood Perkins and I thought the trailer looked great, but the movie itself was a bit of a stinker. I have a lot of mixed feelings about this movie. The concept is cool, but it doesn’t really take advantage of it. The narrative structure is very messy and at times hard to follow. The humor was a huge letdown. It only made me laugh like once, and the majority of it was hard to watch. I enjoyed some of the kills, but not all of them. This movie was definitely lacking in horror. Also Elijah Wood was only in one scene. What a shame.

The Brutalist 2024
One of the most epic American dream stories ever come to life. A story about an immigrant architect and a businessman making shit. The score is fabulous same with the cinematography lighting, editing, and everything else above. Adrian Brody hands-down gave the best performance of 2024.

Dune: Part Two 2024
Dune Part 2 was absolutely stunning. Arguably one the best sci-fi films of our generation. I would even say that it stands toe to toe to Empire Strikes Back and Lord of the Rings. Denis Villeneuve has crafted a masterpiece. The scale of this movie is astounding. It out performs Dune Part 1. Part 1 was only the appetizer and part 2 was the full course meal.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 2024
This movie took everything I enjoyed from the previous films and amplified it. Tons of great moments of Jim Carrey doing goofy things. The sonic series is pretty cheesy and at times hard to watch but Jim Carrey nailed it in this one. The action was badass and was fun turning my brain off too.
