  More like defying brevity…

  Was the line I had teed up before I watched this and enjoyed it. Very charming performances from Ariana and Cynthia and pretty fun for the whole runtime. The music mixing is a little sterile and I think this was the first time Jeff Goldblum was the worst part of something he’s been in, but all in all a pleasant surprise after getting assaulted by Xfinity and Starbucks ads for 8 months and being prepared to hate it.

  Unsettling tone and great visual style with a grainy nostalgic texture to everything. Silence of the Lambs meets Fincher and a sprinkle of The Witch on top with its constant looming threat (and eventual legitimacy) of the devil. 

  I wanted more Nic and the story and players were a little too neatly interconnected for me, but this was really creepy and seeped even deeper into my head when I went to bed like any good horror movie should.
