  just a thoroughly cool guy movie. the main cool guy is so cool guy he doesnt take his shades off in the entire movie, except for one scene where he has sex. that dude just has unbelievable presence in every scene he is in. The soundtrack and a lot the editing is cool, all the characters are likeable, but when it slows down to sort of seep in the drama of them, i do think its at its most boring.…

  The raid 2 is certainly bigger. The fight scenes are able to shine more with how diverse the situations and sets are. The raid 1 is spectacular in its choreography, but nonetheless felt restrained with it being confined in pretty samey hallways and rooms. Here we have brawls in clubs, car chases and gang shootouts.   This movie left me terrified. The way that the darkness, grainy image and camerawork leaves you completely disoriented, you always feel vulnerable, there is no escape. The amount of scares that happen you could probably count on one hand but the movie builds so long on suspense and dread it feels like you will drown in it.

  Its biggest knock is probably how the scares themselves actually don't match up to the build up of them.
