I really wanted to like this. It looks beautiful, has a story ripe for a great drama and it contains a beautiful visual metaphor about how grief comes and goes but never leaves those who have experienced it. But ultimately I found the film overly melodramatic and got tired of hearing Satie every 15 minutes – music which has been used more sparingly and to greater effect in other films
