  First off, I think this doc works better if you see it as an analysis of the different ways an appearance-focused society necessitates unethical and immoral acts, rather than as a simple explanation of the “aunt Becky” college scandal we all heard about two years ago.

  We see the rise of a callous criminal mastermind. We see him exploit people’s deepest insecurity: not comparing to their wealthy neighbors. We don’t see why he did it, but we do see why…

  Watched River’s End at its virtual premier at Wild & Scenic Film Festival, where it took home both the People’s Choice Award and the Jury Prize. Beyond its captivating visuals and gripping story, the doc has been a conversation starter for me many, many times. I can’t recommend it enough.
