The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse 2022
A great adaptation from the book. Awesome art style. I find I can relate to a lot of the characters within the film which is why I have a soft spot for this film. The Boy and the Heron 2023
A great exploration of grief throughout this film. I can empathise with Mahito and his feelings, which makes his journey and eventual revelations and reflections within the film all the more impactful.
I can also really appreciate the WWII era temporal setting of this film. It's always interesting to see how Miyazaki represents Imperial Japan as a nation. It's nothing like what you read about in the history books - it focuses on the smaller and more personal details which I think is often lost on Western audiences.

Dune: Part Two 2024
Amazing cinematography. The colour grading throughout, particularly on Geidi Prime, added a touch of surrealism to the film. Villeneuve is a real master at this.
Narrative wise, it follows on from the original novels well, but for the uninitiated I think it can be definitely confusing at times. Criminal that this film got shafted during award season for the likes of films such as Emilia Perez.
