Early to middle parts of the film just lack that something that makes other mob films great (i.e gofather and goodfells) however the ending sequence in terrific and I really like the film's score and performance from Al

This film might have the best utilisation of symbolism ever. The subtle yet deep connections between the character morals and simple things such as costume design and obscure background objects is impeccable. Analysing or studying this film in depth can make you fall in love with Kubrick's work as he is a masterful director and has potentially the greatest technical film makings skills out of any person on the planet.
