This my second A24 pre screening event that I’ve been too, and the experience is always exhilarating.
Warfare is a slice of life war film about a specific experience Army Vet, Ray Mendoza and his unit were a part of during the peak of the Iraq war. 276th movie of the year.
I saw this at The Chicago International Film Festival and immediately was intrigued by the premise and execution of the story. The foreign feel of the film is fascinating, and the choices the director made left a lot of things open to interpretation. It was clever and thought provoking and presented an interesting commentary on the importance society places on how you’re perceived by your peers and the outside world alike.
