Any praise I may level at Longlegs feels rather backhanded since it comes with the awareness that this film is realistically selling a bag of old tricks. Satanism as a vague catch-all for any supernatural happenings in the film, the spectre that is childhood trauma as a theme in horror, and of course, kids stuff made to feel creepy.
