I stumbled upon Network hoping to affirm my suspicion that "not much has changed" since the 40 years this film debuted. However, this film surprised me. It showcased the underbelly of TV programming, willfully acknowledging the propaganda and deceit of TV executives.
The acting is phenomenal. With 3 Academy Awards for Best Actor, Actress and Supporting Actress, this film (due to the writing) allowed actors to portray great depth. Beatrice Straight won the Best Supporting Actress for one incredibly scene.…

Fantastical story filmed with beauty and grace. Ang Lee's masterpiece has martial arts, romance, intrigue and drama. Truly, there is something for everyone!
The cinematography is stunning. Ang Lee uses forces of nature to help tell the story. When Jen explores her maturing to a young woman, she flees to the desert. The expansive, golden rolling sand dunes and canyons mimic how Jen, in the wilderness, is finding her own "wild" side. The ending scene at Wudan Mountain is breathtaking.…
