  I don’t really find any of the thematic elements of its eugenics that interesting but the script does such a nice job of balancing high concept sci fi, murder mystery and strange romance.

  This is the first time in a long time that I’ve had to genuinely look up “ending explained” after I watched this.

  Very few people actually picked up the true reveal in this movie(myself included). It’s pretty subtle but seems so obvious after the fact.

  A massive achievement in scope and character. It revisits a lot of the familiar themes commonly associated with “The American Dream” but to often profound ambiguity. 

  I do think the movie’s portrayal of sexuality and sexual trauma is a bit messy and often distracts from its lofty goals.
