Wow.. this was incredible. A dream of aggression/repression/connection? Everyone driven by forces no one including us the viewers can pin down or understand. The road which is endless and goes everywhere/nowhere. It is also so beautiful. I loved all the night photography. Darkness!

Pacing kind of goes off the rails in the second half, but this is still totally charming and honest and I loved both leads. I was really impressed with how they "resolved" their main romantic conflict- they kind of are just compelled to reconcile via circumstance and the passage of time, which felt so authentic. Feel like most of these would have some forced moralistic conversation to get through it

Unfortunately the plague of above the fray ironic theater laughers continues to spread, but still had a great time watching this on the big screen. Def felt like it could have gone a lot deeper / more interesting psychosexually/thematically but more than compensates with atmosphere+imagery+performance in what ends up feeling closer to a straight good vs evil tale. Ending scene was incredible

I loved how it kept most of the sexual energy / psychodrama subtextual, but then let it get expressed through the hyperreal + extremely silly tennis moments / weird cuts / cutting in and out of the super aggressive score. I think this was so much more interesting than if there had been more explicit sex, especially in terms of the boys' relationship. I was kind of on the edge…
