~The book is better~
But for a multitude of reasons in this case, mainly that the movie takes some liberties in chronological rearranging that I think mess with the audience’s chance to know the main character better and to understand her relationships to not only nature, but the people living around her in this remote village. I think the book is very self aware in raising questions about solitude and about what it means to be a “crazy old woman,” while the movie plays into those tropes more so rather than questioning why those tropes exist in the first placeTranslated from by -
