  I really love the realism and the concept of this film. The most jarring perspective that it brought to the screen of war is that of the degradation of humanity of the main character, as he progressed from being a youthful young man to just a killing machine filled with hatred, remorse, grief and death. The stark contrast really brings out the horrors of war
