  Adam Sandler is a good actor.

  Honestly if I were in the same position as him it’d be easy to acquire the same infamous reputation. Who wouldn’t want to go on holiday 24/7 and doss about with some mates when you know all you have to do is stitch together some phoney romantic comedy, slap your face on the poster then reap the box office rewards to cover all the expenses? Easy money. Rinse and repeat.

  But then, out of the blue, he does films like this seemingly just to prove that he’s not completely talentless.

  Nearly had me fooled.

  Oh David Lynch, you crazy son of a bitch. Going into this film did you have any idea as to how monumental and ambitious the task you were attempting to tackle was? How many bases you would have to cover in order to honour the vast source material and deliver a faithful adaptation for fans whilst simultaneously dumbing it down enough to satisfy the movie execs that were seeing first hand how successful the science fiction genre was in theatres? …

  Toy Story 4 2019

  It’s clear to me PIXAR, despite some rockier productions, have struck a solid formula for the films in this series (you’d hope so after four of these things). Beautiful animation, fleshed out characters and a story that strays far from the generic minimal effort garbage studios are willing to put in front of kids for a few hours. Obviously not cinematic perfection but hey it’s an animated kids movie in 2019, I went in expecting such and came out... without having a stroke. That’s a win in my book.
