I want to rate this both a 1 and a 5. This film at some points is visually stunning, "every frame a painting", yet is consistently failed by the most peculiar choice of dialogue. The writing in general is puzzling, as there are so many plot points that are introduced that ARE NEVER ADDRESSED LATER. Cesar can literally control time, and its never used in any meaningful way. Our Father – The Last Days of a Dictator 2025
I very much enjoyed this film, both from a cinematic and political perspective. The perspective of the fallen leader is always an interesting one to me since so many relied on their perceived strength, only to be reduced to walking corpses of their propagandized self. The wheel may be spinning, but the hamster is long dead.
Also getting to ask a question to the cast and crew was a really cool opportunity. I hope to see more films like this…Translated from by
