  I do commend the film for having such original characters. 
  I just don’t buy that they are that deeply in love. Needed more substantial scenes to show them absolutely falling in love enough to murder for each other.

  Everything started with 'The Trial of Arabella', a play Briony wrote for Leon. The play falls apart in the beginning of the movie, it was never mentioned again. But in the book, at the ending, old and dying Briony watches the play acted out by children of her brother and twin cousins. That made me cry. In a way, that play was where everything went wrong. Briony wanted to play the main character, Arabella, but Lola took it from her.…
