When Pam Grier says "This is the end of your life, you rotten dope pusher" and then shoots the guy in the head with a shotgun, I thought Holy Fuck I love this movie.
And then at film's end after Coffy has killed everybody and she's at her crooked ex boyfriends house, the emotion she exudes as she shoots him in the dick and then walks away, I knew that even if Pam Grier never made another movie, she would always be my favorite actor.
This is such a great movie. Pam Grier forever.

I stumbled across this movie many years ago when I bought a bunch of $1 used VCR tapes. I have watched this film many, many times but I reserve it now for special occasions. This movie speaks to me on a personal level in so many ways that it would be impossible to explain. It is as if they had filmed a chapter from my life. The soundtrack is nearly perfect. It evokes a time and place and culture that doesn't exist anymore, but if you had lived through it, it's realness is palpable. It feels biographical in nature. My Favorite Film.

Someone saw Beetlejuice that's for sure, the main character is a darker Lydia Dietz but without Winona's effortless charm. William Sanderson has a bad ponytail. Karen Black is her gorgeous self in a thankless role. The main girl, the poor misunderstood goth who moves to a plastic high school with mean plastic people does a poor job and there is a hole at the center of the film. Honestly, I had a hard time telling all of the big haired 20 something teen characters apart and didn't know who was being revenged upon. Meh.

    forgot to log this.
oddly campy watergate era werewolf film set in the white house
dean stockwell plays the lead as the president's press secretary and furface and he has an oddly detached what the fuck am I doing in this movie look on his face the whole time
not funny not scary but crazy interesting historic oddity had me somewhat bemused

A Republican Party financed advert for the benefits and correctness of torture. Morally reprehensible. Fuck you movie.

I think I've had enough with all the raping this year. I think my resolution for 2017 is to go all year without having to watch anyone get raped. Does that mean no Japanese movies? No 70's movies? No Christina Lindberg? Sigh. Probably all of the above.
