    Pretty good prequel to Rosemary's Baby, and even knowing where the story ends up -- and in a way gleefully waiting for that connection -- it was never unwatchable. This mainly comes from the performances. Kevin McNally and Diane Wiest own as the Castevets -- even if Wiest is such a different performer than Ruth Gordon was.     This felt like Parker Finn getting to be his own filmmaker and not trying to base everything in his references. Naomi Scott fucking rocks every moment of this movie.

    I can't tell if these two films have reached the pinnacle of what the unreliability of this smiling madness can do, or if there's still room to grow. And with that ending, I guess Smile 3 will hopefully give us something to really smile about.

    I really wish this movie had a different title, for one; what does "Captain Fantastic" even mean?
