bella’s exploration as a woman untethered by society resulted in some heavy introspection for me. the lack of exploitation through emma as an actress made for a supremely effective critique on masculinity that would’ve fallen flat otherwise.

greta gerwig we are kindred spirits!! this was beautiful!! must have been an absolute dream to work on this. cried during all the obvi parts but also just looking at margot like she is so ethereal. i also laughed so much!! allen was so funny. and i loved the fourth wall break like exactly!!! new fave final line in a film. ⭐️

she’s done it again! there’s something special about the way sofia coppola is able to weave empathy and love through every one of her shots. nobody will ever be able to portray girlhood quite like her. her expression through color was done beautifully as always, and i can’t get over the color usage for the trip scene! baby blue obsession activate! 🩵
