such an underrated film. so beautifully made, with a great message that is so often misunderstood. one of the very few disney films that has a female lead and that isn’t oriented around a romantic relationship. also horse!!!
everyone who dislikes merida is so devoid of the female experience. she’s dealing with the impacts of the patriarchy, blames her mother and struggles with internalised misogyny, before realising her mother is not at fault and that they redress the balance.
