Not good but not abysmal. A teen flick to be certain. The plot twist with the brother was unexpected but really didn’t make much sense or bring anything to the table. No real scares, and the tone was not dark or eerie enough to make up for a lack of depth and character development. Ending annoyed me.

The Old Ways 2020
The first 3/4ths of the movie were pretty good. The demon as a metaphor for addiction/alcoholism was just a little heavy handed. Costume and set dressing was cool, had a nice creepy ambience. Rushed in the final quarter. The last 15 minutes in particular felt forced and as if it was moved through way too quickly, which was especially jarring seeing as the first half of the movie has very slow pacing. Each climax in the last half was anticlimactic. Still a fun watch tho.
