  Horrible and stupid remake. The plot wasn’t scary, and the entire movie was juvenile and boring except for the occasional kill scenes, and even the kills relied on being over-the-top and gory instead of having any actual fear or suspense to them. Not worth the watch, and certainly doesn’t deserve to be affiliated with the original Child’s Play series.

  One of my favorite horror movies. The story is compelling and moves at a good pace, managing to stay engaging the whole time. The plot is concise and well-written, everything happens for a reason and makes sense in the context of the story. 

  Gory/scary moments are brief and poignant, disturbing while avoiding being gratuitous. Tension ebbs and flows, and the plot doesn’t use its few twists as a crutch for the story. 

  The soundtrack works really well with the visuals, and the camerawork does a great job of capturing the mood and tone of every scene.
