To start I gotta give props to Ke Huy Quan. I adore this man and I’m thrilled to see him back in action! I want more films with him in it, just being badass and a ray of sunshine. The Butterfly Effect 2004
Ngl I really like this film lol. When I first saw it, however, it was closer to when it came out, so it didn’t feel so… camp? Not sure that’s the right word. But a 2025 rewatch is kinda wild cuz a lot of it doesn’t translate well now or doesn’t age as well. All that said, premise of the film, and how it’s filmed in general (the words vibrating off the journals), I still enjoy. I still really like this film, but could do without a lot of aspects. A remake would be pretty cool tho.

Movie still holds up! Ugh that animation! The soundtrack! The longing! This is my favorite 2D animated film from childhood and watching it again on a big screen made me tear up for real. It holds a lot of good memories. I had the movie’s soundtrack on CD and memorized every song. The villain song naturally is top tier. 10/10 always
