  Really enjoyed this one despite making the classic blunder of renting the English dubbed version rather than the original Japanese version w/ subtitles, I’ll have to rewatch and update my score cuz the English dubbing was less than ideal. 

  Pros:
  -Incredible world building and setting, Neo Tokyo feels alive and seeing how a post-war society copes with the current situation was well done and fleshed out without being forced down the viewers throat with exposition

  If you’re not a fan of westerns I don’t think this film will move the needle regarding that opinion too much, but it’s a solid watch for anyone who enjoys the genre. Definitely got the sense that this film inspired the makers of Red Dead Redemption, which I’m down for. 

  Pros:
  -Strong performances all around, Guy Pearce and John Hurt were especially great
  -The story was well-paced
  -The outback was a great backdrop for the film, I personally haven’t seen…
