While other WWII films make the war into some sort of relic of the past, this film presents the normalisation of hatred through painful contrasts. It thereby forces us to see reality for what it is: most of us would probably not be a well-celebrated resistance hero, but would rather be sucked into the banality of evil.

Small Things Like These 2024
Ongetwijfeld een prachtige film met zeer sterk acteerwerk van Cilian Murphy. Maar het voelde alsof ik wat miste, alsof de film halverwege stopte. Ik had graag gezien hoe sociale controle binnen de stad de karakters verder zou beinvloeden.
