  this was showing for $5 at a movie theater nearby... kinda epic getting to watch it on a big screen for the first time! 

  
  also rewatching it i realized although i’ve always wanted to be an envy... or even a ramona... i’m definitely a wallace.

  this movie wants you to believe that the injustices in our legal system stem from a few bad individuals and not the system itself. not great but jeremy strong’s stoner voice was fun!

  i may have shed a tear... or a lot of tears

  found myself thinking about the unique ability of film to capture the fabric of life experiences... these tiny, poignant moments that almost escape description. of course these memories would be filmed for the characters, because no other medium is capable of capturing them the same way.

  this has probably some of my favorite musical songs ever. but there is also so much it gets wrong: the brownface, the accents, the violent sexism. i would really like to see an updated version, but i’m not sure spielberg is the person to pull it off.
