  Very sweet and enchanting. The ending sequence where Bogart’s character suddenly understands the depth of his feelings for Sabrina is an all-timer.

  No director embodies the films as dreams trope as well as Fellini. 8 1/2 is the ultimate evidence of that. This film creates a narrative in which dreams and reality exist side-by-side, each informed by the other. Images abound with eroticism and tropes of sadism and masochism. Though I personally find La Dolce Vita to be more entertaining, it's undeniable that 8 1/2'a visuals are the strongest of Fellini's black & white period.

  This would be a great movie for someone who hates movies and thinks that saying swears counts as a joke.

Following
