While certainly not my favorite PTA film, it feels like a highly cohesive and meticulously planned "thesis film"; a treatise upon the traumas inflicted by fathers upon their children, by husbands upon their wives and the strengths granted by empathy, forgiveness and perception. The biblical deluge during the climax of the movie serves as both reckoning and cathartic release; it allows each principal character to move forward, to say what needs to be said, and to face their transgressions head-on.…
