  Started watching this a few days ago with the little one who gave up after the first half and couldn't be convinced to go any further. Finished it today and he was entranced by the second half. Gene Wilder was such a treasure.

  I saw this at a horror film festival in Brussels with a wild audience of baying & hollering European cult film aficionados 19 years ago. It was fine then. It is fine now. As much of a De Palma parody as it does a Hitchcock homage.

  This was much better than I expected. Not as corny as a religious, hippie musical Shakespeare adaptation should or could be. A solid adaptation with some great songs. Low key and melancholy and ethereal.
