Just let Gromit do his damn job!

Charming animation with a relevant storyline that echoes the concerns of technological advancements in modern day. I loved the captcha moment where feathers got it wrong but still got let into the system. The inventions were super cool as well. Really funny story that didn’t have me bored for a single second.

  • Anora

    Anora

    ★★½

The characters in this film didn’t go beyond their archetypes, they felt like broad stereotypes instead of actually fully realised ppl. Anora is the loveable stripper who acts tough, Vanya is the clueless rich boy rebelling against parents and the parents are cartoonish villains. And that’s it. The movie stops at being a surface level spectacle rather than something thats emotionally engaging and it’s hard to actually sympathise w the characters struggles!

Like yes, this is a funny film but I have watched funnier. This didn’t feel like anything special. Actors were brilliant though.

A beautiful film with whimsical storytelling and classic Wes Anderson colors that invite you to escape from your boring life and into a secret world! Loved the use of frames/doors/windows/binoculars to give insights into the characters’ individual personalities and emotional states. The contrast between the pure, straightforward views of love and connection from the children versus the complex, often compromised perspectives of the adults is especially poignant. It makes you question why adults can’t live more authentically, like the children, and reminds us of the simplicity and honesty we often lose with age.
