La La Land 2016
the way this movie captures love, disappointment, yearning for more out of life, hope, and resilience all in one never ceases to amaze me. Also if you think about it, Jazz is a form of resilience that came from the history of oppression and struggle black people have had to face in the US. So I think it’s kinda a fitting theme that connects back to the music. I don’t know if the mostly ✋🏻 writers were going for that but I’m sticking with it.
