  What every coming of age film oughta aim for: feelings of nostalgia for a place you (might have) never grew up in and during a time you never experienced. Even if your story isn’t parallel with the story being told here, some experiences are near universal, that’s what makes it so enjoyable, it didn’t feel like Hollywood writing kids but instead the characters just felt normal and real (and dumb asl.)
  The natural dialogue and cool cinematography obviously help tho fs
