  damn why was I drafting a nice review here instead of in gdocs. more quickly; stories we engage with are glimpses at their platonic forms. Murnau's version is the fairy tale; this, in 2024, feels closer to a first hand witness of the terror.

  First movie of the year. It's special to enjoy something over a century old not only as a piece of history, but a compelling adaption in its own right. Definitely looking forward to digging into generations of reflections on it.
