Back to Black 2024
as far as biopics go it was defo watchable & was happy to sit through whole thing. very well acted & sang by Marisa Abela. unlike the posters claims however, the film didn’t do ‘her life, her music’ or ´her legacy’ any justice. the story of her life was boiled down to her relationship & addictions, which were both in themselves very clumsily portrayed. the story of her music made no sense & felt very secondary which kind of defeats the point of a biopic. & then the story of her legacy was just not there.
