  they kind of push you into this gothic world with no lube from the start - get a girl some context first?! 

  also I will never stop complaining about movies being set in a place like Germany in the 800s and the characters only speaking posh English

  I’ll just copy and paste the texts I sent to my mum after seeing the movie:

  The theme is quite tough, but it doesn’t weigh on you, and it is styled so beautifully both fashion and architecture/interior wise. Just that perfect blend of tragedy and lightness Almodovar knows well.
  Plus Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton are just so good.
  Just get tissues ready.
