Rush 2013
Considered a gold standard of racing movies. Serious, no nonsense look at the 1976 F1 season that became a sparring match between two drivers only, everyone else was just a spectator. The portrayal of Lauda is uncanny and amazing to watch from a relatively unknown actor. Really fun period racing piece.

Ford v Ferrari 2019
One of the best racing movies made, up there with Rush, but even more approachable. Really fun throwback to a great era in motor sports. Love the scenes with top dogs at Ford and to glimpse what the top floor offices were like back in the 60s. Racing scenes are really well done, Bale is excellent. Not too happy with Matt Damon, felt many other actors could have done a better job.

This movie is garbage. You have to suffer through hours of miserable dialogue just to see a few minutes of cars and racing. The viewer is ignored and left confused and bored. Who cares how many affairs this guy had? We want to see his cars and how the company grew into a powerhouse. A misleading trash pile for any car enthusiast.

Want to see the best action movie of the 80s? Here it is, and what a ride. Featuring by far one of Hollywood’s most polished villains ever, Hans Gruber meets his match with John Maclaine . John McTiernan’s rollercoaster is fun, funny, and wild to sit through. When I saw it in the theater in 1988 I had to pee so bad from excitement but wouldn’t dream of leaving my seat. Saw it again the very next day, same theater.
