Taking the phrase "laying pipe" a little too literally. Pure insanity. Very well made. Reminded me of Eraserhead but just a little wee bit more extreme. The filmmaking and score were very well done and had a great sense of intensity. My favorite part was these strange sped up/ stop motion scenes whenever they were on a street, especially the one at the end. They had such an immense feeling of speed without being able to stop. Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters

The most cinematic experience I have had in a while. The visuals and music are just overwhelming. Seeing this in a theater would be insane. This is the perfect way to do a biopic. The way it combines Mishima's life with his writings is so interesting. I did not expect Mishima's life to be so interesting. He seems like a very complicated person, and the movie does not glorify him but rather confronts his ideologies. I will definitely rewatch because I did not grasp everything.

When you use cat feces and ointment to get the young maiden to come directly to your chamber but she is conniving with the evil one so you have to whip out the spiked collar 😔😈🧹

    Mickey 17

A little frustrating because I love the book and this did not touch in on my favorite part of the book. Mickey7 goes in depth into the philosophy of being an expendable. Is someone with your personality and memories really the same person as you? Are expendables truly "immortal"? Mickey 17 hardly addresses this at all. The plot of Mickey 17 could have been almost the same without the multiples. It was a fun time though and I enjoyed the focus on Marshall. Turning him into a trump like figure was funny. Also Toni Collette was great.
