Never watched these films as a kid but I had plenty of friends who did and I can see why they liked them! The effects and soundtrack are fairly corny now but I think that honestly adds to the charm and helps to date the movie in a good way, a nice throwback to when superhero movies took up a much smaller portion of the box office and as a result had a lot more novelty when they did come out.
I’m not the biggest fan of Disney’s recent trend of live-action remakes, however I consider this movie to be in a class of its own. I’m perfectly okay with Disney taking their already existing franchises and making live-action stories set in the same worlds if they’re not one-to-one (or nearly one-to-one) remakes. This feels like a win for everyone - fans of said franchise get a new installment in a different medium (live-action), it’s not the exact same story they’ve…
